In this hands-on workshop, participants will be introduced to the intricate art of kilim weaving, adapting age-old techniques into a modern, creative format. Perfect for beginners and craft lovers alike, this two-part experience offers a meaningful exploration of culture through craft.

A Persian kilim is a traditional flat-woven textile from Iran, known for its vibrant colors, striking geometric patterns, and deep cultural symbolism. Each kilim tells a story—reflecting regional identities, history, and the rich artistry of Persian weaving traditions.

What You’ll Learn:

– Introduction to Kilim Weaving: Explore the history, cultural context, and key techniques of Persian kilim making.
– Read & Follow Patterns: Understand how to interpret weaving patterns.
– Weave Your Own Piece: Use traditional methods to create a miniature kilim item.

Workshop Dates:

Each workshop runs over two sessions, where you’ll complete one finished product:

– 3 & 10 June – Make either a glasses strap or a keychain
– 17 & 24 June – Choose between a bracelet or a bookmark

No prior experience needed. Just bring your creativity—everything else is provided!
