Psychodrama workshop: vacation vs. immigration

Psychodrama workshop: vacation vs. immigration

How can small contextual differences completely transform the emotional meaning of the same life event?

In this interactive workshop, participants explore the contrast between vacation and immigration through a combination of acting exercises and reflective writing. By stepping into different perspectives, we examine how context shapes our experiences, emotions, and understanding of one another.

Together, we will use storytelling, improvisation and creative writing to reflect on themes of belonging, identity, movement and home. No previous experience with acting or writing is needed, only curiosity and a willingness to explore.

The workshop is guided by Ömer Faruk Aykut, a Clinical Psychologist currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Brain and Cognition at Erasmus University Rotterdam. Combining his background in psychology and clinical psychology with training in acting and performing arts, Ömer creates an engaging and accessible space where participants can connect with each other through creativity, dialogue and shared reflection.

Participation is free. If you’re able to, you can choose a donation ticket to support Dokhuis in keeping events like this accessible and free for everyone in the future.
