In this workshop series led by Iranian artist Mohamad Khezri Moghadam, you will learn five different stitches used in traditional Iranian Pateh embroidery. At the end of each session, you will complete and take home your own finished artwork.
Pateh is a traditional Iranian embroidery art from Kerman, stitched on thick wool fabric with colorful wool threads. It features symbolic motifs inspired by nature and ancient Persian culture, such as the paisley (boteh), tree of life, cypress, and sun. Carrying deep cultural and emotional meaning, Pateh continues today both as a heritage craft and in contemporary artistic forms.
Each session we will go through all the techniques. You must register separately for each workshop in this series.

In deze workshopreeks onder leiding van de Iraanse kunstenaar Mohamad Khezri Moghadam leer je vijf verschillende steken die worden gebruikt in traditioneel Iraans Pateh-borduurwerk. Aan het einde van elke sessie maak je je eigen kunstwerk af en neem je het mee naar huis.
Pateh is een traditionele Iraanse borduurkunst uit Kerman, geborduurd op dikke wollen stof met kleurrijke wollen draden. Het wordt gekenmerkt door symbolische motieven die zijn geïnspireerd op de natuur en de oude Perzische cultuur, zoals de paisley (boteh), de levensboom, de cipres en de zon. Pateh heeft een diepe culturele en emotionele betekenis en bestaat vandaag de dag nog steeds, zowel als ambachtelijk erfgoed als in hedendaagse artistieke vormen.
