**WildLIFE Lokaal is terug in Dokhuis! **
Ook dit jaar doen we weer mee aan WildLIFE Lokaal, onderdeel van Wildlife filmfestival. Tijdens de lokale weken voorafgaand aan het festival heb je de kans mooie films al vast te zien op een locatie in je wijk! Kun je dit in het engels vertalen?
We starten de avond met een gezamenlijke maaltijd van 18.00 tot 19.00 uur. Om 19.00 uur begint de film. Achteraf praten we natuurlijk na.
Deze keer vertonen we een indrukwekkende documentaire over de verborgen gevolgen van oorlog voor de natuur. Een ecojournalist reist meer dan 9.000 kilometer door het door oorlog getroffen Oekraïne om de grootschalige ecologische verwoesting (ecocide) in natuurreservaten en nationale parken vast te leggen. Haar reis voert langs verschroeide steppes, met mijnen bezaaide bossen en drooggevallen rivieren. Van de uitsluitingszone van Tsjernobyl tot aan de kust van de Zwarte Zee brengt ze de impact op wilde dieren en kwetsbare ecosystemen in beeld, met als doel internationale aandacht te vragen voor deze vaak onzichtbare gevolgen van oorlog.
De film is Oekraïens gesproken en voorzien van Engelse ondertiteling.

**WildLIFE Local is back! **
This year, we are once again taking part in WildLIFE Local, part of the Wildlife Film Festival. During the Local Weeks leading up to the festival, you’ll have the opportunity to watch inspiring films in advance at a venue in your own neighbourhood!
Join us for dinner from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm, followed by the film, which starts at 7:00 pm. After the movie there is time for talks!
This screening follows an eco-journalist on a 9,000-kilometre journey across war-torn Ukraine to document the devastating impact of ecocide on nature reserves and national parks in the heart of Europe. Travelling through scorched steppes, mined forests, and dried-up rivers, she records the consequences of war for wildlife and fragile ecosystems—from the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone to the shores of the Black Sea. Her work aims to draw the attention of the international environmental community and human rights defenders to this often-overlooked aspect of the conflict.
The film is spoken in Ukrainian with English subtitles.
